I combine a calm, attentive energy with a deliberate method: semi-posed framing and movement. That means I place you in a flattering composition and then use conversation, small tasks and motion to draw out genuine smiles and expressions. I talk a lot during the shoot — deliberately — to create comfort, reduce nerves and ensure both couples and families feel seen and guided. For the ceremony and reception I often work as a 'fly on the wall'. This discreet documentary approach captures the atmosphere, guests and small moments, so you get both an overall view and intimate close-ups. I prioritise being close without being intrusive, allowing you to be present in your day while I photograph what unfolds naturally. Engagement and pre-wedding sessions are also an important part of my practice. A session before the wedding gives you a chance to practise in front of the camera, produce engagement images for invitations or “save the date” cards, and usually makes the portrait part of the wedding day much more relaxed. My editing philosophy follows the same principle: natural colours, subtle retouching and a focus on what makes each image special. I keep images true to life while working purposefully with light, colour and composition to emphasise mood and emotion.
